No Malik (injured) or O'Brien (no visa yet) tomorrow so I can't see us getting 20 wickets! Wayne White is set to play, it's typical of county cricket that the official site hasn't actually made it clear that he has signed formally.

New and Boyce to open again, big test for New after he slipped out of form last year.

Leicestershire (from): Matthew Boyce, Tom New, HD Ackerman, Boeta Dippenaar, Paul Nixon (captain), Josh Cobb, James Allenby, Claude Henderson, Harry Gurney, AJ Harris, Sam Cliff, Wayne White.

Can see us getting absolutely hammered to be honest as I can for the whole season.

Lost all our pre season games and Loughborough Uni showed us up.

Very little experience in the fast bowling deprtment with the departures of du Preez and Kruger (who has ended up at Glamorgan after falling out with Boon).

As for White.. He was released by Derby. Says it all really.

Can't believe the make up of our bowling attack. It looks so weak. Desperateley need Malik and O'brien in asap.

Eh, i still think we should stick with this side though, yes it may be a season or two of trouncing, but theyll come good in a couple of years i reckon.

Anyone know if the tyflex ball is making a difference?

The ball was certainly coming through slowly enough !

Once the sun tried to come out and the ball was more than 30 overs old, there didn't seem to be much movement- although to me the pitch looked a particularly bland colour for this time of year.

Still, I was amazed to arrive at the ground and find that play had started on time. I thought it was a decent day's play, but then my expectations are realistically limited.

No play today then.

Still, as I drove back to the Ashfields through Nottingham I saw the floodlights on at Trent Bridge. I parked up + walked in to Find Notts playing Middx in a 50 over friendly using the white ball. So I take a seat, watched 3 balls... then it started pissing down and play stopped for the day!

Still, If anyones interested or in the area they will play again tomorrow and its free to everyone to get in.

Northants 387ao. That's 276 for last 5 batters!

Leics 0-1!

There's still enough time for them to bowl us out twice! :icon_lol:

My god we really are shit. My V money looks safe.

What is the aim of LCCC:102:.

Year after year now it seems that there is no ambition with them.
Any good players soon go, and they seem to spend most of the season fighting to stay off the bottom of their respective lges.

Maybe i'm way out of order and ignorant to circumstances, but i really dont know how you die-hards tolerate the never ending sustained failure of the club:icon_conf

I find that there are nearly always facets of the game to enjoy even when watching a side that is generally uncompetitive.

I can't really blame anyone inparticular because i think Leicestershire are in a very difficult situation in that they can't compete financially with more successful counties. I thought the Kolpak experiment was well worth a short term go because we obviously couldn't recruit top class experienced English players - but for a number of reasons that has now run out of steam. In my view we are being forced to play too many young and inexperienced players too regularly - and I question whether this will really help their development.

But it's a difficult situation BB.
