i'm writing this season off and putting myself into carbon freeze until next july

we've become the villa of the championship, no cup runs, no top of the table, no bottom of the table and a pile of sh1te to watch. i don't blame levein, i wish i could!

anyone who wants to say "oh, come on get behind the team" and all that bollox, feel free. but to all you optimists out there, shut up and put your money where your mouth is, i'll put up £50 that we don't get more points than last season. webbo can adjudicate, i'll put up the money beforehand too

yes i'm feeling pessamistic, even if Hume is class, he's still gonna have De Vries next to him

regret to inform, carbon freeze doesn't work, lando broke it

you lando!

instead i'll have to stay watching leicester for another year

now now darth you know hate leads anger and anger leads to the dark side, would you be happy if you found your son and got him to rule the galaxy with you. and maybe if he doesn't his siiiiiiissssssster will.
:056:

I understand your point, but you have to give us a fair crack. lets not get worked up over it. we weren't gonna get promoted this year with or without connolly, yet i still think we can improve from last season, and as long as we do that we will be better set for next season when in my opinion pushing for promotion is a must.

it could be worse...........you could be watching forest

bless you, that *has* cheered me up

and Derby sold Rasiak

but, and i could be in for some tomatoes here, i'd like to see all 3 of us in the prem. remember the 0-4 at pride park?

aaaaah nostalgia, it ain't what it used to be

is nostalgia banned so i don't sound like a forest fan? perhaps i'm more nostalgic because, like forest, we're now toilet

Just to cheer you up - if you are right and get no more points than last season, then you will have the excitement of a relegation battle.

My own view is that success this year should be measured on whether we exceed last season's points total - I don't think we will either simply on the basis that the club has bobbled along at the same dismal level for quite a time now and you don't improve things in the short term as measured by points returns by the sort of transactions carried out this week.

My personal forecast is that this will be CL's last season at The Walkers because I can't see any manager with ambition putting up with pressures of the financial constraints/ high expectations of supporters syndrome for too long. Surely there is no way he is going to put up with further cuts for next season as the parachoute monies go - and the ST sales prospects continue to deteriorate.

The first bit of interest by another more viable club and he is going to

yes, but who's interested?

we pay him ok, if some other championship under-achievers came along they would only be able to offer him similar money

for a premiership team to be interested, he'd have to be doing well. and with 6 points from 6 games and only millwall conceding more goals, i think Alex Ferguson is safe

Oh, don't say that, if CL left at the end of this season it'd be a disaster. Who would want to manage us then? :(

I never expected promotion this season anyway, I'm surprised so many did (as listening to the reaction to the Connolly sale on phone-ins etc.), I hoped for top ten, more enjoyable games and maybe another run in the cup. An outside chance of the playoffs keeps the season interesting of course but I never thought we'd actually get there. All the teams up there at the moment have personnel who have been together for years (and/or financial backing), most of ours haven't played 10 games together.

I don't think Levein will be picked up by another club at the end of this year, however I do worry about the moaners forcing him out. He's quite strong willed but if the criticism he's been getting (since day one from some people) continues he might start thinking its a majority thing and resign.

I also think he gives the impression of being strong minded - and I believe that he has confidence in his own abilities. However, he came here thinking that the club was an escalator to the premiership. Everyone inside football knows that he has taken on a thankless task with the board cutting away resources all the time and I think they will all be watching how he handles the situation. With due respect to Hume, he is but a promising young player from a lower division and to ask him to replace Connolly - no wonder-player but our only proven goalscorer at this level - is asking a bit much. Therefore, if CL is able to keep us in the fizzy league this season, I think that he will be offered more promising jobs elsewhere.

Jesus Christ people I think we're all getting a bit carried away.

No I don't think promotion's on the cards, but I certainly don't think relegation is either. We have played 6 games this season, and sold David Connolly, for a massive fee - there is no reason for any knee-jerking quite yet.

Someone mentioned we're the Aston Villa of the Championship and I agree with that 100%. CL is building a new future at the club which will take time. Personally at £2 million we'd be mad not to have sold Connolly. The knee-jerk reaction was all Wigan's on that front!

Fully agree with Leigh & Redditch Fox. CL has made it abundantly clear the rebuilding is all about next year. All the doom and gloom about losing the parachute payment is a bit overdone in my opinion. We are now getting a squad with a wage bill that can cope with that. Also, how anyone thinks you can throw a mostly new team together and expect them to gel straight away is living in cloud cuckoo land. I am just looking forward to some better displays this season, and from what I have seen home and away gives me some optimism. To be honest, it is the defence that is taking time to come together. I think our goals will come, with more of a contribution from midfield this year.

6 games = 12.5 % of a season

;)

You read some posts and you wonder whether people just post cack to be controversial. Well, so called City fans, (I know it's all about opinion before you start), it is not controversial to keep slagging off Leicester city, the manager, any player we bring inetc etc etc. :icon_evil

Some of you should take a long and hard look at yourselves. In all honestly you shouldn't be watching City, maybe you should go and join the Old Trafford prawn cocktail brigade.

Personally I think a lot of you are like a bunch of sceptic a##holes. Always bloody dripping........

(Oh DV I'll take your bet on, unless you're gonna be lilke Marlon and welch on it when you lose, coz lose you will :icon_evil )
