I haven't got one but you will either need a wireless router (as i believe the ps3 has a built in wireless adapter), or you will need an ethernet cable from your ps3 to your modem.

All that assuming you have a broadband internet connection.

Yeah I have broadband, and I got an ethernet cable with it, but is it really as simple as just plugging it in?

Been playing online for the last couple of hours on Resistance: Fall of Man.
Very very good, and my first experience of online gaming.
