Palace boss may turn to Leicester striker

Saturday’s defeat at Manchester City highligted again the need for Dowie to find a partner for Andy Johnson and he is set to turn to Scowcroft after turning down the chance to snap up Russian international Dmitri Bulykin.

Dowie’s is also keen on West Ham’s Bobby Zamora but a first team recall on Saturday and two goals against Wolves may mean Alan Pardew keeping hold of Zamora for the time being.

Former Ipswich striker Scowcroft has been linked with a move to Norwich in recent weeks after regaining his place in the Leicester side and with new signing Mark de Vries now arrived at the Walkers Stadium, Foxes boss Craig Levein will listen to offers for the 29-year-old.

I don't remember him being dropped.

To be honest, this would be a good move for Moley as Dowie was a smilar (sort of) player and Scowy would fit in with Dowie's philosophy of having "intelligent" players.

When I met Scowy he was a really nice guy but he's knackered or shit or whatever and right now if he left it wouldn't be the greatest loss in the world! I can't belive how little he gets subdituted.
