On the news it has stated clubs being relegated to the championship will receive £48 million over 4 years.

Is this a good thing or bad?

On the positive side teams will less likely go into administration,on the other hand they will be at a big advantage of getting out of the Championship.

Next season the teams coming down Hull,Portsmouth and Burnley will have little or nothing to spend.

That's why Leicester have to get out of this league this season,or next..

If they don't i feel we will struggle to get in the prem unless we get a backer...its crazy to think that the championship will go the same way as the prem.

I can't find anything saying this has been confirmed, the other day it was suggested but was rejected in principle by most lower league clubs.

It might mean the teams in the Prem will spend even more money, because they'll think the parachute payment will enable them go to straight back up if they go down, which could mean they have even bigger debts if they don't go up again.

And it might mean teams spend more money they haven't got trying to get into the Prem.

So it could lead to more teams going into administration.

It is going to make the Premiership a club of around 24-26 teams. After a few seasons, there will be four or five teams in the Championship with greatly increased spending power: the rest, will be just that, the rest. :icon_sad:

The way football clubs are mismanaged causes me to share your view.

If a club gets promoted after 1 season the extended payments become irrelevant anyway.

If this does happen does the parachute get distributed between the other clubs anyway?
