Having not lived in Leicester now for some 13 years, I have lost touch with what there is on offer.

In a couple of months, my Grandad turns 70 and I've been drafted in to help with the party preparations. The family are at a loss as to where we could hold the party.

There will be family coming from all over the UK, approx 80-100 are expected.

I thought a country hotel type place was ideal, but I don't know where to start. Due to the large numbers expected, the venue will need a good supply of accommodation or a premier inn type place very close by.

Suggest away, even if it doesn't fit the 'country hotel' theme I think would be best.

I intend to make some enquiries tomorrow at the Quorn Country Hotel. Anyone been? Any good?

Sister had her wedding reception at Quorn Grange. Big venue and lots of rooms.

What area? We had our wedding reception at the City Rooms in the city centre and loads of guests stayed at the Grand Hotel or the Premier Inn near the casino. There is also the Holiday Inn near by.

...he's a massive Spurs fan though

Tell him to **** off and sort his own party!

To his horse,
To his horse,
He was saying goodbye to his horse
And while he was saying goodbye to his horse
He was saying goodbye to his horse.

Wow thanks for so many replies. Keep them coming.

Matt, looking for Leicester (central-ish) unless it was out the way and had 30-40 rooms on site.

The old Post House hotel on the Narborough Road would have the accommadation you require. Easy to find and it used to be a smart enough venue, but i've know idea how much it would cost.

Premier Inn it is now and has a number of rooms. Went to a Wedding/Christening do there last year and they have rooms for the disco and 2 quieter rooms which were used for the buffet to be spread out and to sit in with younger kids or could be for the oldies to have a chat whilst not having to compete with a disco. They also had the main bar which you could use as well. Which was usefull as City were on.

How about the Grand Hotel itself then? City rooms only have 3 rooms hence using the other hotels for our guests.

Thanks for all your ideas, I shall be contacting these today.

Some bastard is getting married on this day, otherwise it would have been perfect.
