Just interested to get a comprehensive view from those that went. I didn't listen to the match due to time difference. Wondered why some have given him a low score. He is the new Ashley Cole after all.

I'm hearing that the defence (except Weale) was poor last night, in fact, very poor. Despite this, we kept an clean sheet away from home.

If we can win games whilst playing badly, especially in defence, then we are going to do bloody well this season.

We'd need to rely on lots of other teams being as inept in front of goal as Sheffield United for that to be the case. Any other team would have stuck 3 or 4 past us last night.

I guess it must have just been a bad game then. The defence was a very new line up, they will take a bit of time to get used to each other. Either way, if we can fluke wins whilst they learn how each other play, then that's great.

Not sure about him being the next Ashley Cole unless he cheats on his Mrs, sends pics of his tackle and is a bit of a scumbag.

He had a wake up call as to how hard this division is and if he adjusts he may still be a success. He has a bit of speed and looked promising going forward but defensively hmmmm not sure he is strong enough, and not so impressed with his tackling.

Wait and see I reckon and perhaps put Berner in for the Barnsley game and leave him on the bench and perhaps bring him on 2nd half all being well.

Aanholt = Hot anal

I would have thought a wake up call shouldn't be needed in this case with him having spent so much time on loan playing in this division already.

I saw Mee in the Millwall game and didn't think he was that bad but certainly no better than Hobbs and I really hate to see our own players making way for loan players without good reason... by the sounds of it that might be the same case with Van Aanholt, hopefully he bucks up in the next match!

His performances for Newcastle last season were very good, hopefully last night was just an off day.

I've heard that too from a couple of newcastle fans here. He will be fine.

I seem to remember Cole couldn't defend very well when he was 19-20 either.
