I know what you're on about Homeypants - however many players currently managing clubs from the school of Sir Alex Ferguson are achieving high results....I would not bet against Paul Ince being the latest to shine.
Steve McClaren being a prime example :102:

I'd love to be proved wrong, but he doesn't come across as doing what Roy Keane as so far done at Sunderland. Maybe it's the difference in leagues ???

He's actually from the 'Jim Smith School Of Excellence', Sheepshagger and all.

Ince's achievements IMO are better than Keane's. Keane has been given shedloads of money to build a team, millions he's spent on one player. Ince has no money at a club seemingly doomed and gotta em major out of the shitter. Macc average the lowest crowds in the 92, they probably are the smallest club in the 92 (could be Barnet or Accrington Stanley aswell). His achievement is superb.

Sunderland didnt have an idiot in charge of them at the start of the season, they would have been up there anyway.

The pair are arseholes but the club needs an out-spoken arsehole.

If you look where Macclesfield were in the league or in terms of their form when he took over, his impact is remarkable. This is considering the fact that he'd never played or knew anything about the football at that level. He's also turned their season around without spending any money or calling in favours from his old boy network.

In this context, his impact is comparable to Keane's in my opinion.

:038: :038: :038: I am in total agreement with you. I think Ince just edges it for me because he has done it with very little money.

A League Cup win, a League Cup final, a Eufa Cup Final, 2 FA Cup semi-finals, 7th in the Premier League....

He's one of the most boring cnuts on the planet and he shouldn't be England manager in a million years, but if we get someone with better credentials than that, I'll eat my hat (which is quite big).

I'm becoming more interested in the Ince idea.

But how clever would it be to, yet again, appoint someone with little or no experience? That tactic hasn't worked for us recently...

Didn't the MM revolution start with him holding a press conference to say that the idea of him taking over City was just a rumour...?

At the moment I'm not concerened about who will be here next Season, more where we will be playing next season

The important factor for me if Ince (or any manager really) did come in would be his assistant and coaching staff, it does not really matter that Ince has little experience he has the face and reputation, if you back that up with good experienced coaches you have a winning formula. MON never took many training sessions (and before anyone starts I am not comparing directly), he had good staff to do it for him. RK did not have this to fall back on so never any plan B (sometimes no plan A).
Personally I could not stand Ince as a player, but maybe he has the kick up the arse, take no sh*t attitude this club needs. I never thought Keane would do what he has done, but his personality works for a mananger and I think Ince does too.

Yep! Might work.
I coudn't stand hime either. Arrogant little so-and-so. The Governor! Ha.
BUT, what we need is someone who will kick the players up the jacksie for not following the simple instructions of "pass to feet", "move into space" etc.

I really can't make my mind up. As player/person, then I can't say he was top of my favourites list, but one thing that you cannot take away from the man was his passion and enthusiasm for the game and the club that he was involved with. Now if he can bring just half of that into his management career and transfer it to his players, then I think that he will have a long and succesful career ahead of him. Whether that's at LCFC remains to be seen.

I would prefer Coleman as he has experience managing in the Premiership but I would have no problem if Ince did become our next manager.

Lets just hope we are in the Championship next season!!!!!!!
