Pensions are boring aren't they ?
''Have you got a good Pension Plan ?''
''No,I couldn't give a **** about a Pension,I might be dead tomorrow''

Two members of my family are now about to see the rewards or lack of for their pension planning.

One of them piled loads of money from an early age into his pension. He will retire just before 60, with house payed for and in general a comfortable retirement.
The second one as always' been a live for the day ' character. He ended up divorcing a few years ago and could only afford rented accomodation.
He is just retiring at 65. The share of money he had from his divorce settlement was wasted on cars and other things. Basically he will retire with hardly any assets, and will need to go cap in hand to the authorities to scrounge whatever money he can claim for. He has 3 children who will get feck all when he departs this earth. He chose his path in life, but i dont see his remaining days being particularly happy ones.

Is there a good way to bypass the work stage and go straight for the pension?

Pensions are for arrogant fools who think they can beat the Grim Reaper.
