Re: P'Boro (A)

Just getting into bed, I can feel a wet dream coming on.

Re: P'Boro (A)

Another pleasing aspect is that we have reduced our difference to Blackpool in Goal Difference from 7 goals to 3 goals.....

Doesn't make much difference as it's very unlikely that goal difference will have an effect. Either:

- They win 2 and we draw 2, taking it up to at least 5 with a game to play; or

- They win 1 and draw 1, while we lose 2, taking it up to at least 6 with a game to play.

Re: P'Boro (A)

Absolute farce on the trains. Two called off, one with hardly space.

EDIT: stood next to some drunk twat and Bernie double act now.

Plus my mum and dad's plane been called off.

It's a good job we won.

I really enjoyed that, fantastic atmosphere and the Joe Lewis chants made me laugh.

It was a crap game of football though, reminded me of Southend away last year. Also, I wish James Vaughan would put some feckin' studs in his boots, I lost count of the number of times he ended up on his arse.

Re: P'Boro (A)

Horrible game on a horrible pitch

Didn't get out of first gear, really, but enough character to win the game

Great game again by Wellens, with Howard and Morrison pushing him close for MoM. Was a great goal by Big Stevie

Poor game from Waggy, and not surprised to see him go off

But it's all good in the end :038::038::038:

Win and a draw might just about do it - two wins would be simply lovely

Depends. If they have a really heavy defeat it might make a difference but I agree with you it's unlikely to have an effect.

Highlight of the day had to be when Wayne Brown clattered their nonce of a right winger in the first half.

My favourite bit was when Vaughan pretended to be picking up the ball for them following an offside decision, but actually kicked it away

Lovely stuff :038:

For it to make a difference with a heavy defeat, it would assume they lost at least 1-0 as well. So we would have to lose at least 6-0. If it comes to that we've got bigger issues...

Yeah quality that. I thought Brown was awful though, hardly won a header against CMS and made a daft challenge which led to their goal. You'll do!

Re: P'Boro (A)

It was a scrappy game and we really didn't play well against a side that has already been relegated and had 3-4 players missing due to injury. I saw Shakespeare and Walsh after the game and they agreed that the performance wasn't particularly good but the result was the most important thing today. They also comfirmed that Matty Fryatt will be back shortly.

I thought that defensively we were quite solid - Hobbs was excellent. Gallagher was disappointing. Spearing looks like a young Danny Murphy. Howard did ok, but really should have won more headers. Waghorn was fed long hoofs from the back in the hope that he would win a header against their defender (Exodus...) was is about a foot taller than him. Wellens came more into the game in the second half. King came up with the goods with the goal. Vaughan kept slipping and sliding.

Can anyone confirm what the Joe Lewis chants were.

'Lewis Lewis start the wave'
He subsequently did, then it was
'lewis, Lewis' and 'lewis is a Leicester fan'

Re: P'Boro (A)

Actually the Posh fans quite liked the chant when he took a goal kick ...' You're **** aaagh', because many don't rate him (quite a few gaffs this year)

Re: P'Boro (A)

So happy right now after this result and the Blackpool one!

Thought we deserved the win, they didn't do much had a couple of little phases but when they equalised we moved up a gear and got the goal.

Number 34 (Geoghagon?) was quality for them dealt with all of the long balls and really frustrated Waghorn when he was on.

Overall a good day in the sun, fans were quality and the 4 point gap has opened up over seventh :)

Re: P'Boro (A)

He played quite well because we played to his strengths - ie aerial balls that he could head away easily. Had we played balls in benhind him for Waggy to run onto I think his weaknesses would have been exposed. We don't seem to have midfield players that can deliver a killer ball to our forwards.

Re: P'Boro (A)

Hardly took any photos cos had a damn post in the way, but made sure I took a couple of Oakley when he got on the pitch:icon_lol:

Wasn't a good game, but now it's just about grinding the results out.

Roll on next week and hopefully we can seal our play-off place!
