I need a decent digital SLR camera for around £200-£300 (second hand).

Looking for some advice on what to get

I'm currently looking at a Nikon D60 if anybody has used one before?

Depends what you want it for. If you can pay the extra I'd go 2nd hand Canon 500D or if you're flush the 550D newer model. Personal preference but I think the low end Canons are better value than the Nikons. Once you have a semi decent body look to invest in some good lenses.

There are also some pretty good hybrid models coming out now, always worth a look depending on your requirments.

Kingy, I can seriously recommend A Minolta Dynax 5D, you can get one for under £200 off ebay and the minolta/konica lenses that you can pick up are also fairly cheap and great quality.

Its working well for me and ive been able to pick 3 nice lenses up for a fraction of the price of 'the top two' supposed makes.

Not an SLR, I am looking at either the Panasonic TZ20 or the FZ45. The pricing is fairly similar, and the FZ45 looks a better camera, but bulkier than the TZ20, which is the same size as my TZ5.

When I say looking, I can't actually afford to replace my camera yet. Maybe it's an early idea for a Xmas pressie.....
