Players offered new contracts

Several Academy lads have been offered new contracts. From the OS.

Young Stars Make The Grade

Eight of this season's Under-18s have been offered new professional contracts ahead of the 2007/08 campaign.

Eric Odhiambo, Max Gradel, Andy King, Carl Pentney, Alex Cisak, Joe Magunda, Ryan Beswick and Billy McKay have all been rewarded for their efforts after a successful season on the field.

"We wish them all well," said Jon Rudkin.

"Each rung of the ladder they attain it begins more critical in their development as they look to achieve their main target as a first-team regular.

"All these players have shown the attitude that they can achieve these goals.

"And next season is another opportunity to blood further fresh, young talent within the club set-up.

"These eight will want to emulate the likes of James Wesolowski, Richard Stearman, Levi Porter and Conrad Logan who have all looked to grasp their opportunities this season."

Good to see that most of the team basically have been kept around. A couple already had professional contracts anyway so there's quite a lot of them being kept around. Good to see.
