I really rate him. His attitude was the only thing that was stopping him when with us.

I hope the club are smart enough to give him a chance in the summer.

I absolutely agree about retaining him. I've no idea about his attitude however.

He looks a very effective player indeed and seems to make a lot of good things happen. His performances for Ipswich of late have been exceptional.

Do you have a contact within the club? Or do you make things up and just try to infer that they're fact?

I think some reputable shitrag said his mam's cat's mistress said he didn't think Clownio liked giving youngsters a chance. Or something.

No, I'm shagging his mother. And Mendy's mother. But I draw the line at Claudio's.

So that's a "make things up and try to infer they're fact" then.

It was a genuine question. How do you know about Lawrence's attitude?

I based my opinion on interview reports from him from his time at Cardiff where he was critical of Ranieri and Leicester generally for not giving young players a chance, personally not being given a chance at the club, etc.

I thought his interpretation of events was absurd and indicated a player that didn't appreciate where he was at and what was going on. When he had been given opportunities with us, he'd really let himself down.

Tom Lawrence is a very talented player and I've been waiting to see him come good for years now. I thought we did a superb transfer in getting him out of Man Utd whilst Van Gaal was embarked on a fire sale. He's clearly 'got something' but is now 23 and hasn't developed much at all. I'm still yet to see what I thought we'd see when we signed him. Two and a half years ago, I had similar hopes of him as I did Mahrez. Maybe he was deeply affected by being ditched by Man Utd? If so, he's been mardy about it for two and a half years so far.

Based on his ability, he should be playing Premier League football by now. He 'could be' exactly what we're missing in an attacking midfield role. He should be a key member of the Wales team too. The fact that he's none of these things is a disappointment. He reminds me of a Paul Gallagher type and that's not a compliment.

Perhaps it's that you seem to make comments about the attitude and personality of players quite a lot. From what you have written it seems that these observations are based on excerpts from a few sporadic interviews conducted in very specific circumstances and at very specific times. You just cannot extrapolate things said in these moments to form such concrete views on an individual's attitude. Who knows, perhaps he was working his bollocks off on the training ground with a fantastic attitude only to be left out of the squad time and time again. Maybe this is why he said what he did. The fact is, we will never really know.

Having said that I agree entirely with your opinion of Lawrence as a player. He could be exactly what we need and if we can get him playing for us like he is currently playing for Ipswich then that could prove as decisive as any purchase we may make this month.

Lawrence looks great in the championship. He was given a chance last season in the prem and looked poor - that's why he's been loaned back out. It's down to him to prove worth another shot.

I've been coming on here spouting opinions for over a decade (apparently). I post something about City an average of once a day. That's hardly prolific. Very, very few of those will be related to attitudes or personalities of players.

There are loads of subjects that I don't have an opinion on, so I don't bother with those. Or I have a boring opinion which has already been expressed. I try to self-edit myself to only say something that I think someone else might find interesting or I think is relevant. Sometimes I fail to do this.

I guess that it comes down to what you think a forum like this is for? I think it's a place to express thought out opinions on things to do with Leicester City. I don't think I ever do this based on nothing and I certainly never make stuff up, as was being insinuated earlier in this thread.

I'm just an average City supporter with no special knowledge or insight. You don't have to agree with what I say or even read it. And of course I'm wrong about things sometimes too. Occasionally, I put two and two together and make five. So what?

It most definitely is.

If you were to say "Vardy had a poor game" then it absolutely reads as an opinion. But when you say things like "Lawrence has a poor attitude", it reads as though you're stating it's a fact rather than opinion.

Then perhaps your opinions about attitude and personality, however frequent they are made, should be grounded in the tangible. I'm honestly not having a go, I think you write exceptionally sensible posts that are conducive to good discussion whether I agree or disagree. It just doesn't sit right with me when anyone questions the attitude of a player who, in all honesty, we know absolutely nothing at all about.

Apologies if it reads as though I'm being overly critical.

Most sensible thing I've read on here in a month.
