was it just me or did anyone else think we were massively over policed on saturday :102: riot poilice.mounted police for a team like sheff wed not really noted for football violence:102:

I wasn't sure if it was unjustified as I don't know the reputation of Sheff Weds fans, but yes, it was defo the strongest police presence for a long time. Maybe they were there for our fans incase MM did a no show

There was a front page story in the Mockery this week about a number of incidents this season. Southampton, Derby and another game I forgot there has been probelms involving City 'fans'. So this Saturday, the Police had to look like there were doing their job with a heavy presence and make arrests to keep everyone sweet. That were doing their job.

As we were leaving the ground yesterday my friend found a credit card and an id card on the floor in the A & L stand (J3). We saw a policeman in a car outside texting. He looked up and carried on texting. We knocked on the window and he reluctantly opened it. We explained and he just said (quite unpleasantly) it was nothing to do with him and we should hand it in to the office instead.

We were obviously a total inconvenience but he wasn't exactly busy.

I went to Hillsborough earlier this season (to watch the Derby game) and there were only about 10 policemen obvious in the whole stadium. It struck me then that we seem over policed at most games.

There was some violence a couple of years ago with Sheff wed ouside the stadium wasn't there?

Steward told hubby it was because of a big punch-up that happened at Pride Park between our fans and the police and the boys in blue were out in force to try and nail the culprits :102:

It's nearly Christmas, and the boys in blue need a bit of overtime at our expense

It's only right and proper

One of my mates from London is in the "Met" and covers the Milwall matches. He told me that if there is no trouble, they'll instigate some just to avoid sitting in the van for 4 hours. Maybe not an all out riot, or even to get the football fan in trouble, just the odd little squabble to relieve the boredom. Wankers
