I thought the showpiece event was normally at home on a Saturday or Sunday, not a Tuesday evening away? :icon_wink

Vardy might have played against Hinckley United when he played here in Sheffield for Stocksbridge Park Steels F.C

From those days

North Ferriby United 1 Stocksbridge 0

Steels lost to an injury time goal at North Ferriby after playing a lot of the game with ten men after striker Jamie Vardy was sent off following a foul on Tom Matthews.

Indeed, pulled it back to three three though didn't we? Me and my pals met the squad at the time out side the Ibis at Brayford Pool, a very enjoyable day.

Leicester City will conclude their preparations for the 2012/13 season against Premier League opposition this August, with Martin O'Neill's Sunderland set to visit King Power Stadium.

The Black Cats will travel to Filbert Way for a pre-season friendly on Saturday 11 August (kick-off 3pm) - one week before the Foxes begin their npower Championship campaign.

The game should provide the perfect finale to City's pre-season programme, with Sunderland, under the guidance of former Foxes manager O'Neill, boasting some outstanding Premier League talent.

With the likes of Republic of Ireland winger James McClean, Beninese sensation Stephane Sessegnon and England international Fraizer Campbell in their ranks, Black Cats fans will be optimistic that their side can mount a strong challenge in the top flight next season.

And as Nigel Pearson prepares his City squad for their own npower Championship challenge, there can be few better tests of their progress than a fixture against a firmly-established Premier League outfit.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson said: "To face a team of Sunderland's quality a week before the start of the league season is just the sort of test we are looking for, while the return of Martin O'Neill and his backroom staff, although not for the first time, adds a special dimension to the fixture.

"Sunderland have a squad full of Premier League quality and, as their season starts at the same time as ours, they will be at a very similar stage of their preparations. I'm sure both teams will be keen to perform at a high level and it should be an exciting game."

Tickets for the game will be priced as follows, with on-sale dates to be released shortly:

Season Ticket Holders
Adults/Seniors/Under-22s - £10
Under-18s - £5
Family Tickets (2 x Adults plus 2 x Under-18s) - £25

Non Season Ticket Holders

Under-18s - £6
Family Tickets (2 x Adults plus 2 x Under-18s) - £30

In addition to the visit of Sunderland to King Power Stadium, the Foxes will travel to League 2 side Burton Albion as part of their pre-season preparations. City will travel to the Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday 1 August (kick-off time TBC), three days prior to their trip to Lincoln City on Saturday 4 August.

Let's hope that cock Lee Catatafish doesn't play otherwise there could be a few players injured. A good friendly I think.

This thread is for discussion of pre-season friendlies. Please don't use it to post a load of unrelated crap.

Where can we go to discuss terry south's crap posts then Jeff? They wouldn't make sense in most threads.

Is the squad off to Austria today? interesting yo see if Futcas and trial keeper go, also will Pelts go, and when will our "new centre back" join them?

Futacs definitely going. Peltier will too, it's only Austria for crying out loud. And what new centre back? Who we signed :icon_conf

There are still a few formalities to sort out before he can be officially unveiled as a City player. But he will fly out to Austria tomorrow with the squad for a week-long training camp.
