Just imagine being Armstrong - just got battered 0-5 and you then have to go and congratulate and give one of your own fans a prize as they correctly predicted you'd get battered 0-5 at home.

Must be a right morale booster for him!

Interesting day.

Liverpool were utter shit against one of the worst form teams in the league. I've seen them be ****ing terrible in numerous games this season & mostly get away with it. & yet the punditverse continues to wank themselves stupid as if they were peak Shankly/Paisley.

Fact is, the PL is piss poor this year. The Man City collapse being the only interesting bit. That's the reason Forest, who are basically just a well drilled & cohesive defensive unit who barely score any goals (like every other Nuno team) are doing so well.
Depending on the odds I might well have a 20/80 split bet on Forest & the draw when they play the scousers next up.
TAA can't ****ing defend worth a shit. If whoever plays in front of him has on off day he's ****ed. Beaten by Dalot time & again today. Dalot isn't even a proper wing back. Most overrated PL defender since Rio Ferdinand.

& speaking of pundits, why the **** are they so obsessed with Ipswich staying up? Wtf is the attraction there? I've seen Ipswich loads last season & this & there's nothing particularly remarkable about them. Well coached & efficient & that's about it. Is that all it takes to get everyone creaming their panties these days?

The age of worthless hype. **** off.

Agree with everything here except the Ipswich bit. I actually do think it's remarkable to go from League 1 to the PL in two seasons and not spend a lot and look competitive.

I'm not disputing the achievement. Just the fact that the analysis tries to suggest there's something amazing about the way they play. There isn't. They just play to their strengths. Good old fashioned percentage football. Hardly worth the hype it gets.

But based on the shit our club is serving up, it obviously is worth the hype!

But surely any successful club would play to their strengths?

It's because it's different to what everyone has been led to believe as the correct way.
Probably. Which just goes to show how barren the game has become. As I've said before, the only positive I've been able to find is watching L1 & L2 highlights of teams trying to play out from the back & the comedy value from what inevitably eventually happens.

I'm always pleased when Ipswich and Norwich do well. That's partly because of family links with East Anglia, but also because it's nice to see football supporters in less favoured parts of the country have a chance to watch Premier league football. I have a similar view regarding teams from Bristol and Wales. I remember many years ago there was some, not very serious, speculation that a Dublin team might be invited to join the English league structure. I would have loved that!
