They basically played until Arsenal beat Luton tonight. God forbid a smaller club would get anything out of a ‘big 6’ team.

Commentary/pundits banging on about it being a great game. All I saw was some of the most appalling defending I've seen in ages. Especially from Arsenal. Defended corners like us under Rodgers.

Man City completely outplayed for 90 mins. Over an hour without a shot. ****ing wonderful to watch. Everyone else needs to watch that back. No win in 4 now. Get into em & **** em up.

Terrific performance by Viila. 22 shots, 7 on target, Man City 2 shots, both on target. Tielemans had a pretty decent game, in a forward role.

This has never ever been a mystery. We had about 3 seasons where every time we played them we looked competitive.

Man City’s trick is that teams are beaten before they go on the pitch by the media. Give it a go against them and you might even win.
This currently appears to be the same for us.

It would have been sweeter if I didn't still hold some resentment at our ownership for sticking with Bodger Rodgers over taking a punt on Emery before Villa did following Steven Gerrard's sacking.

Statement win from them last night shows progress is still being made and they are quietly knocking about the title race scene. It's ****ing impressive when you look at their line up last night and realise there's only really their goalkeeper there that you would call 'world class'. Giving off them Leicester 2015 vibes......

This is all true.

But the problem is that there's a lack of teams willing to do it. Maybe the current unimpressive results & performances will convince more teams to stop shitting themselves.

I really hope so, as then we'd be treated to something unique.

Twatiola actually having to arrest a slump. He's never had to do it in his entire career. Every club he's managed has been the best in their league by a distance & had access to funds beyond that of their rivals. It's in adversity that managers prove their real worth, I want to see that tested.

Mind you, I suspect the solution will be just to spunk £300M in January so we'll never know...unless they buy a load of shite which would be hilarious.

Hats off to (small - Non top 6 - club) A. Villa.
I'm NOT a fan of them, but 15 home Premier League wins on the trot and beating Man C & Arse in one week is pretty good work.
