After hearing that West Brom fans were expected to pay £56 for tickets to the televised match at Manchester City on Monday, I had a look at away prices for all the Premier League clubs, to see what we might be expected to pay next season.

The prices below are for adult tickets in the away section:

Arsenal v Stoke £35.50
Aston Villa v Stoke £39
Cardiff v Stoke £30
Chelsea v Stoke £50/£47
Crystal Palace v Stoke £32
Everton v Crystal Palace £36 / £33
Fulham v Crystal Palace £40
Hull v Cardiff £30
Liverpool v Crystal Palace £42 (£40 restricted view, £38 severely restricted view)
Manchester City v West Brom £56 (Over 65s £47, Under 16s £34)
Manchester United v Stoke £46
Newcastle v Cardiff £30
Norwich v Hull £30
Southampton v Stoke £32
Stoke v Crystal Palace £25
Sunderland v Crystal Palace £29
Swansea v Crystal Palace £35
Tottenham v Crystal Palace £37
West Brom v Crystal Palace £25
West Ham v Cardiff £42

So only three clubs charged less than £30. Six clubs charged £40 or more.

So only two clubs charged less than £30 - and they could both be relegated. Six clubs charged £40 or more.
Did you forget about Stoke?

Seems like that twenty quid campaign mentioned by the FT is going really, really well....

**** that

Not to mention the £56 live televised game ticket also needs to have added a £2.50 booking fee!

The way it works is a reciprocal agreement between 2 clubs, eg Swansea vs Newcastle

Often the agreement is between clubs where their fixtures are one of the longest journeys of the season. Some clubs have taken a different route by arranging free coach travel or tickets having an official price (with the away club than discounting those prices), all of which makes it more difficult to monitor, but the theory is that some money is set aside to reduce the cost of going to away games for every club in the Premiership.

I know the Premiership Trust's are monitoring closely, but we are currently just getting up to speed with their work having official joined that grouping the day after promotion was confirmed.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't that nothing to do with the twenty quid campaign? I was under the impression that the circumstances you describe are as a result of the fund from the Premier League, as per the link below:

As I say, I am probably wrong, but I thought the twenty quid thing was an entirely different movement.

I'm amazed that the whole thing isn't a breach of trading standards.Charging people different rates to consume the same product based on where they've come from just reeks of unfairness.

Price discrimination isn't illegal...
