This is the only bird Southampton, Sunderland, and QPR will focussing on from now on:

and the only one they would pull!

It's increasingly looking like it may have to be over 40 points to be the magic mark. Only one in the past ten seasons was 40 required to stay up. The average of the past 10 seasons was 36 to stay up and 40 to come 15th!

Average points per game says Hull will get 36. Form of the past six games says Hull will get 36. However, all form is out of the window now.

Absolutely. For me the Sunderland game is still massive. Tottenham are dreadful and Hull really could beat them.

Nah! Not massive. Southampton was massive but became a stroll.

3-0 up after 25 minutes. 25,000 Sunderland 'fans' leave the stadium.

We sing 'Loyal Supporters' and 'We-Are-Staying-Up!' for another hour or so.

Sunderland are jammy as ****, that's what I'm most worried about. I we beat these we are as good as safe.

I think deep down we are all trying to avoid needing a result on the last day...but let's be honest...QPR at home couldn't be a better option for us.

QPR as they will undoubtedly play now the pressure is off is a totally unknown quantity.

They're still a complete shambles of a team, with in-fighting amongst the mercenaries. If we need a result against them and don't get it, we'll only have ourselves to blame.

(Plus Hull will still need to get a result at home to Utd)

Spot on. There isn't another team Id rather play. If we blow it from here we are the fools.

Yes, but we're not. Are we? #slightlyworriedagainwithalex

Only in the mathematical sense. But, as Boc proved, maths is as flexible as ideas. And in this case the idea is that we are now safe. Therefore Boc maths can prove it. Irrefutable logic.

QPR 0 Newcastle 1
