although i would imagine everyone on here would like us to be promoted where would all of you expect us to finish and where would you be satisfied with us finishing?

safe and safe...
I'm tempted to say top half but would prefer to be really happy at the end of the season rather than let down...:102:

after getting the doubles over the sheep, the yam yams, leeds-scum, the hull tabbycats, stoke, horrible dull palace, ma& the leicester regects @ cov and brighton , netting us 48 points, along with a few results elsewhere ill be happy for this season.

oh and a win against the mighty shakers in the mickymouse cup

I'd expect us to be mid-table or above at the end of the season. I'll be satisfied with anything about 13th.

This league is extremely tough this year, and we could finish 18th this year and then with the same team the next year finish in the top 6, that's how open this league is. Teams are gonna need luck to get promoted this year.

Brighton & Hove Albion
Burnley
Cardiff City
Coventry City
Crewe Alexandra
Crystal Palace
Derby County
Hull City
Ipswich Town
Leeds United
Leicester City
Luton Town
Millwall
Norwich City
Plymouth Argyle
Preston North End
Queens Park Rangers
Reading
Sheffield United
Sheffield Wednesday
Southampton
Stoke City
Watford
Wolverhampton Wanderers

Those are the teams competing in the Championship this year. I think that 17-19 of those clubs will be looking for promotion this season, and feel they can at least make the playoffs this season, with the vast majority of those clubs feeling they've underachieved if they don't make the top 6. 19 clubs for 6 places. Gonna be a lot of disappointed fans this year, and probably managers fired that don't really deserve it.

Tough league for sure. I would be dissapointed if we are not challenging for the play-offs (although I think we will have done very well to make them this season).

We need to see Levein's plans coming together this season (and I am sure that we will), although the following season will be the critical one in judging Levein's ability to get us back to the top.

Bollocks is it tough - we'll walk this league and win it - piece of piss.

Top 10 realistically.I can't see us scoring enough goals to go up but I can't see us letting too many in either.Norwich to win the Title.

would love to see us in the play offs (for visit to new Wembley) but realistically would be happy with a top half finish, compared to last season

I won't be that happy if we're 'only' in the top half of the table to be honest, that could be 11th which for me would represent another under-achieving year at the Walkers.

"Happy if we finish in top half" what sort of b####x is that. :icon_evil You know you won't be. Once we get into our stride, playing with more energy, watch us go.
We saw signs of it last season for 20 -30 minutes we were awesome. Making a change from awful. Imagine what we will be like when we maintain it for 70 - 80 minutes (They will have the ball for a few seconds...)
Come on people, drink from the fountain of positive thinking.
The more I type the more excited (careful) I'm getting.:038:

When you're smiling, when you're smiling........come on people sing with me :034:

Exactly. I intend to be completely positive until team performances tell me otherwise. :icon_lol: :icon_lol: ;)

I am not going to put a position down, what I would like to see us do is the following :

1) Surpass last years points total as quickly as possible.

2) Be in contention for a play off place at the end of March, then lets see where we finish, we may build on the confidence gained and go up or we may slide away and finish half way, but at IMO that would be progression from last year.

3) We have a lot younger squad, many players have yet to reach there prime, also a few are inexpereinced at this level, IMO the team's performances and certain individuals will have progressed considerably by the end of the season.

We have a lot to be positive about and if we dont win promotion this season, I think we will next year, CL is building a young, exciting team packed with hunger, desire and ability. This season will be very different from last and surely that alone will be progress.
