Me and some friends are going to Wembley on Sunday to watch the NFL and I have been given the job of finding some pubs we can go to before the game.

Anybody know of 3/4 decent pubs in close proximity to each other and also close to a tube stop on the Bakerloo or London Overground lines?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :038::038:

Cue people slagging off NFL

I expect newts will be along soon with some handy wikipedia links for you.....oh no, oh God no, he won't be posting, he's gone....

Probably spell the links wrong anyway :icon_roll

Those sites are always a bit cack - better to hear it first hand

And, for information, every day that Newts doesn't post, a small kitten will be drowned

I hope you're all pleased with yourselves

Which is why I asked the question, the majority of those websites arent worth listening to because they just have comments from owners/regular drinkers.

Even more incentive to keep Newton away, I hate Cats! :038:

There's a few Londoners on here, I think - not sure they venture into General Chat, though

I will be going to this game too (went last year as well)

Last year we just got the tube to Wembley and then drank in some of the pubs around the ground, they weren't the best to be honest but we wanted to get there early and see what was going on etc

I think this year we'll prob drink somewhere else and then head down to the ground a bit later but we will be getting in the ground to watch the build up and all that goes on (so long as it's not the feckin Feeling again)

With it not being a soccer match :icon_wink you can drink in the stands (even if it is vastly overpriced) so that's a bonus

We went last year as well!

We just went to Leicester square and had a few drinks, but then had to mess around on the underground. This time i was hoping we could drink somewhere in the centre, but then get the tube straight to Wembley rather then having to change.

As you say you can drink in the stand, but it is vastly overpriced and to the same standard as the Walkers, which is sometimes not even drinkable

There are a few pubs opposite the Great Portland Street tube station. Went to the Albany for the Cup semis and had some very nice food, with real chips, and an excellent selection of beers.
There was another pub right next to it and a couple in easy crawling distance. All looked OK.

I think our issue with Wembley has often been that we park at Stanmore and then it seems a bit odd to go straight past Wembley to then come back to get to the ground (I realise this may sound daft and obviously rules out near enough every pub in London by doing this though)
