A Mahrez-less Puel team makes me want to cry.

If he’s still here by the end of October I’ll eat my hat.

With all due respect mate, that’s bollocks. Nobody will moan if we’ve had a good season.

Again, respectfully, that is bollocks. Nobody wants him to fail because nobody wants the club they support to fail.

With all due respect, we had a decent season last season. And most of the forum is still moaning now. You being one of the Captains of the ship de moaners.

I don’t think our form or results in the second half of last season were decent.

I understand that there are fans who have faith in Puel. I understand there are fans who think we will do well under him. I have no issue with these fans. I hope they are right. And I accept that people have different opinions.

But this narrative that some fans have that those of us who have reservations (based on what we’ve seen of the team under Puel. Not based on anything else) will be negative towards him whatever happens, and we want the team to fail just so we can say, “I told you so”, just isn’t true. I haven’t read one person on here who has misgivings over Puel say that they want him/us to fail.

With respect again, it's about the whole season and where we finish up that ultimately counts and baring in mind that we had a piss poor start to that season under Shakespeare, we can't have done that bad. What were we 8th/9th? That's not bad at all and I'd like to see us challenging for a European place again this year. Last season we did and fell short.

I'm not a massive fan of Puel myself but this constant negative yapping from a particular few on the forum before the season has even kicked off gets on my tits...

I'd be happy with a similar season - comfortable top half and hopefully challenging for a top 6 place.

We challenged for a European place last season? Are you kidding me? In terms of points we were as close to 20th as we were to 6th. And we were as close to 15th as we were 7th.

We clearly were in with a shout before we dropped off in the last month or two..

Yeah perhaps for a week or two in February.

We were near the relegation zone for a week or two as well.

Just because we finished at the top of a very poor bunch, doesn’t necessarily mean we had a great season.

7th largest wage bill in the Prem, and a squad of mostly title winners, yet we finished so far away from 7th in terms of points that it was embarrassing.

I'm pretty sure I remember at least one poster saying they wanted us to lose games so he would get sacked last season.

In a one-off game I have said that. But nobody would rather us lose consistently as opposed to winning consistently. That is asinine.
