As for the comment about the director (QT) being self indulgent, or whatever the quote was (I can't be bothered to find it again)

Surely that is better than a director making "commercial" films purely for financial gain. i.e. 90% of all films

Tarantino makes films that give him pleasure and stretch his, and our, boundaries of creativity and imagination

'don't get it', here's me two-pence. Its not all his own work, Roger Avary should be credited. No need for three segments, its been better used elsewhere. QT promised a Kill Bill 4 hour epic, however he splited them providing the chance for more revenue. He makes films he wants to emulate. Jackie Brown waste of time, Kill Bill would have been reduced to a b-movie if he wasnt behind it. He's a utter waste of space, he's a 'saviour of film', I can think of five directors which have more claim to that. The dialogue is not realistic, character such as Winston Wolf a joke.

It's not a 'dont get it', its poorly made and bile.

Vote with me people, it's terrible film. A joke of a film, oscars! Shocking my arse. You want to see something he's trying to copy go out and buy a few foreign thrillers. You will find out Pulp Fiction nothing special, it's just a video shop owner's wet dream.

Pulp Fiction has some excellent dialogue, one of the reasons I like it, also true of Jackie Brown. Elmore Leonard is one of my favourite authors for the quality of his dialogue.
