Pulp Fiction has some excellent dialogue, one of the reasons I like it, also true of Jackie Brown. Elmore Leonard is one of my favourite authors for the quality of his dialogue.

What films would you list as fitting your brief? just out of interest.

Kubrick is the man in film. And Lynch.

hmmmmm. Fair enough but I wouldn't have said the dialogue would be eithers strengths if I am honest, in certain cases then its decidedly clunky.

I have to say I do like Kubrick but I also think that people who want to be clever about film say how great he is, not that i'm saying that about you though, you seem to know your Orson from your Eisenstein.

My favourite films generally involve Scorsese and De Niro, King of Comedy being a personal favourite. Ang Lee hasn't made a bad film and if you like long shots and still camera's then watch any of his films (apart from Hulk!) and the Coens should be up your street for dialogue and the cinematograpy.

Ang Lee's The Ice Storm is a personal favourite. After the remake of Ladykillers, I darent watch another Coen movie, Miller Crossing and Fargo are the bomb. Scorsese has pissed me off lately but his new film's looking good.

Please for the oldies like me can you explain what 'ala bomb' means?

I must admit I'm unsure what "ala" means, it doesn't work in the way I know here.

Just some silly media phrase he's the man for British film.
Anyone heard of him?

Yeah seen a few of his films, which are very good. Bit like Ken Roache for the midlands, working class tales of working class people.

I saw the boxing one and, Romeo Brass and Once upon a time in the Midlands.
