Liverpool signed Welsh Under-21 international Ramon Calliste in August 2005 after he was released by Manchester United.

Calliste has been given a one-year deal and will be a regular member of Paco Herrera and Hughie McAuley's reserve squad for the 2005/06 season.

He impressed during a trial spell at Liverpool and scored on his debut for the reserves against Newcastle United.

Football League clubs face a late scramble to complete emergency loan deals before Thursday's deadline.
After 1700 GMT on Thursday, no additional loan signings can be registered until the transfer window opens on 1 January.

Clubs will be allowed to extend existing loans and to sign goalkeepers in exceptional circumstances.

League spokesman John Nagle said: "All emergency loans must be registered by third Thursday in November."
