He did make a few dud signings, but those mentioned cost £100k between them. His money spent to money worth ratio was excellent.

How much did he spend on Gallagher? £ 1m? Hardly money well spent. He was fortunate to have the backing from Milan to a) recruit players for a League One outfit even though they were clearly able to play at a higher level, for example Hobbs/Davies/Stockdale etc, and b) He was given a reasonable budget when we were promoted to the Championship - Wellens/Gallagher/Waghorn/Hobbs/Brown
Ridiculous thing to say,Gallagher is one of the most technically gifted players in the league!
How many goals has he scored for us, and how long did it take for him to score his first goal?
The point I'm making is that Pearson had substantially more money to spend at this level than the likes of Kelly,Little, McGhee and O'Neill.

You're usually pretty on the money but to cast doubts on Gallagher's technical ability is astonishing. He may often be ineffectual and a bit of a luxury player, but his technical ability is probably better than anyone else in the squad.

Guessing you dont agree to that. Gallagher is a good player, with a lot of talent. But theres probably a few more gifted players in the league than Gallagher. He's too inconsistent, we need more from him.

You are right I suppose to a certain extent. The second sentance in your post is the reason why he causes me so much frustration watching him. I would add though that he a misplace a pass with the best of them.
