Whenever I hear The Hollies sing "Silence is Golden" I can taste a bacon sandwich and start to salivate. This though is a Pavlovian response, my having heard the track played constantly at the greasy spoon where I used to queue for the office sandwich order. Almost 50 years on and I'm still plagued with it.
