Happy new year to one and all of you fellow foxes.

I'd like to start the year with a serious post so here goes:
Basically, I'd like to know if anyone knows when the two of our fixtures that were postponed are likely to be rescheduled for.

We play Doncaster at home on the 9th of February (a Tuesday) and are due to play Cardiff (or Bristol City) on the 23rd of January.

The dates we have free in the next few weeks are as follows:

Tuesday 12th Jan
Wednesday 13th Jan
Tuesday 19th Jan
Wednesday 20th Jan
Tuesday 2nd Feb
Wednesday 3rd Feb

then no chance (due to pre-arranged mid week fixtures) until:

Tuesday 23rd Feb
Wednesday 24th Feb

We could conceavably be playing the same club twice in a week, both Doncaster and Cardiff.

Ona side note, I notice Cardiff have a home game against Blackpool this Saturday (9th) which, surely if the weather forecast is correct will be frozen off too. If not, then why on earth was our match? Does anyone think that they deliberately called the game off? Would it have helped them due to injuries, etc?

I'm really concerned that we are going to get one hell of a fixture pile up which I can see going one of two ways - either we get some injuries and have to play with a weakened team for a few matches OR we get on a roll and chalk up plenty of points almost under the radar and sneak even higher up the table. Obviously I'm hoping for the latter but see this as the less likely of the two scenarios.

I know all the fixtures will sort themselves out but feel that the two postponements could hamper our promotion challenge quite severly.

What do you think?

Both Doncaster and Cardiff have to play their 3rd round cup-ties on 12th or 13th Jan, so that's out.

2nd and 3rd Feb are reserved for possible 4th round replays - so nothing can be arranged for those dates before the 4th round has taken place.

I think you worry too much.

Surely we could just plod on as we are, with a few victories and maybe the odd defeat against the tougher teams like Cardiff. Although I agree that injuries could take their toll.

I would be very happy indeed if we were still in the play-offs come February.

Doncaster Rovers have us provisionally booked for Tuesday 19th Jan, provided thier FA Cup tie doesn't need a replay.

Do you think there be tickets available on the door for the Doncaster match then?

Tickets on the door for Donny?

As the official site is yet to catch up with the provisional rearranged date, I suspect it will be some time before we will know for certain whether tickets will be available on the gate.

Don't worry it should be on the site around Jan 20th :icon_redf

Just got a reply:

Dear Joe,

Thank you for your email. As far as we are aware there will be no tickets available on the night to Leicester City supporters, however we still have tickets available for the match if you wish to purchase any.

Kind regards

Jim

not really pointless as it did let me know that they still have tickets available for the match if I wished to purchase any.

What is? Part one of FryattFox and Jim's love saga?
