I don't see why any club should be pressurised into helping out another club who have got themselves into a mess.

Its not Liverpools responsibilty, but the premier lge should recognize the importance of football at lower levels. It does highlight the fact that clubs lower down the order will go to the wall, unless there is a better distribution of money to the lower leagues. Perhaps the next time Liverpool come sniffing for one of Lutons promising youngsters, they should sell him to one of Liverpools rivals or stick an extra few hundred thousand on just for them:icon_wink

or if clubs are more sensible with how they fund their club

I cant believe they want Liverpool to cough up. They already have a tie on TV against a big team, they're going to make a lot of money from the tie already.

If that isn't enough then its only theirselves they can blame for financial mismanagement and they cant expect Liverpool to bail them out.

I know Luton rejected a 200k bid for one of their midfielders from Forest last week, so the money is there if they really want it. They are just being greedy :098:

Liverpool are being victimised due to circumstance. Luton should be ashamed of themselves.

If they drew Rotherham last season, would they have donated their takings to them?

Good post Melton Fox.
One of them stories when you first read it you think you tight wads Liverpool give them some cash.
After dwelling on it you see the folly in Lutons proposal.

Luton have mismanaged and pissed away millions over the last few seasons. They don’t deserve help from anyone.

Typical Liverpool.

When they want the nations sympathy, it gets rammed down our throats. When the boot is on the other foot its different.

You really think Liverpool didn't help Luton out :102::icon_wink

Besides, why is it Liverpool's responsibilty to get Luton out of trouble?

Liverpool FC is a business as is your business BG do you help out any ailing firms when they are in the shit ?

I do give to charity though.......:icon_wink

But don't get me going on about Liverstool........

Can't believe the reaction some people are giving to this.

Can you not remember when we were in admin? We would try any means to keeps us going and rightly so.

For Liverpool to donate their share of the receipts to Luton would have made Fcuk All difference to their balance, its not as if it would have been part of their budget to keep the gate receipts. The money they have got from the tie won't even pay that wages for a week for just one of the majority of their first team squad, but at Luton it would have gone a long way to help saving club.

IMO this just gives rival fans even more reason to dislike Liverpool when they could have come out of this situation with a lot more credit to their name.

But why should Liverpool suffer just through circumstance. It's nigh on vistimisation.

But it would make no difference to the future of Liverpool FC whether they received the money or not, whereas it could keep Luton going.

They are only suffering as their owners are obviously such arrogant pricks.

I am tring to keep quiet here, but its not going to last

Why is it Liverpool Football Cub's responsibility to keep Luton Town Football Club in business?

In a sense it is, but only via funds distributed via the PL to properly run Clubs. :icon_wink
