Hornets Stung
A goal in each half was enough to give Leicester's second string their first win of the season at Marston's Stadium, Hinckley.
Strikes from England youth internationals Ashley Chambers and Levi Porter (pictured right) secured a 2-0 victory for a young City side over Watford.
The Foxes got off to a flying start and opened the scoring when Chambers wriggled through the visitors' defence to curl a shot low into the corner of the net and get City off and running with just five minutes gone.
Leicester continued to look the brighter side, with Watford having to wait until the 25th minute for their first clear-cut chance. A missed clearance by Conor Franklin allowed Adam Griffiths to break through on goal but a fine save by Conrad Logan wiped out any danger.
As the match progressed City ventured forward less but defended stoutly. The Hornets had chances to get back in the game, Hameur Bouazza's shot after bursting into the box was skewed wide early in the second half.
Ryan Beswick worked an opening on 70 minutes but he was unable to beat Alec Chamberlain in the Watford goal with his drive.
Bouazza then tried to get Watford back on terms on his own, an impressive solo run was ended by a fantastic block from Logan. A minute later however City doubled their advantage and banked the three points as Levi Porter produced a sublime finish from the edge of the area, leaving Chamberlain rooted to the spot.
And Porter was integral in another chance for Leicester in the dying minutes, his ball unlocking the defence and sending Beswick on his way. Only a fine last ditch tackle from Junior Osborne prevented City from adding a third.
