I swear in the "Manager Talks" posted today the reserve team was described as a "strong lineup"... now we've lost they call it a "mix of youth and experience"
Not that it matters obviously, but losing that game is pretty poor when so many of that team are first team or at least on the fringes.

To be honest I doubt if Allen had any say in the matter at all - of all people, I suspect that he is one person who cannot be blamed for this one

Agreed, he made it very clear at the time, it wasn't one of his signings.

Agreed. It seems to me that MM rubber-stamped some of the early deals based on what his contacts reported. I think that may be where the problem for MA lies - he clearly didn't want JFH to be a repeat of Nielsen & Hellings.
