Dear All,

Im off to see our friend Stonepark play a gig in Groby tonight and wondered whether there was anywhere decent to eat in the village? Or would i be better off eating elsewhere then getting a taxi to groby?

Eat elsewhere, the only place I can think to eat there (other than the chinese takeaway) is the Stamford Arms, which used to be a bit of a dive, but not been in a while.

I would recommend The Forge in Glenfield for cheap pub food

Went there the other week. Went for a regular basis for a while cos it was decent. Thought it was crap last time though....waiting around 30 minutes to order and either the beer had gone or the coke had gone...it was like Fawlty Towers.

Groby Fish Bar will do. :icon_lol:

Was starting to wonder! Is the brant any good?

Last time i went to the Brant it was rank. Worst cod + chips I've ever had - the best thing on the plate was the slice of lemon.

It was a few years ago tho, so the waitress might finally be ready to take my desert order!!!
