Considering who we were playing a silence was never going to work was it. Credit to the majority of the trees who did join in with it.

Indeed. From where I was it sat there didn't seem to any of them who weren't clapping. I only glanced over a couple of times though.

The problem with a silence is that the players have got themselves all psyched up and hyper for the game and then have to go and stand there, heads hung, in silence, for a minute or two, whereas at least with applause, it doesn't carry that sombre air to it and can keep that hyped up feeling going in the players.
