I have a spreadsheet, the relevant contents of which are landscape in size/shape.

I want to print it out on A4 portrait so need to 'turn' the spreadsheet through 90 degrees.

I don't want to change the page layout properties as this simply needs two sheet of paper and doesn't change to what I want.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

What happens if you change the layout to landscape in the printer properties rather than changing the spreadsheet?

It prints the landscape view on two sheets of portrait A4.

Next!

Why not save a copy of the document and edit the layout of the copy so that it prints how you want it to?

could you dick about with doing a screen dump?

and if it prints to two sheets, force it not to print>set up>fit to 1 by 1

I usually change it to landscape in page properties and also "fit to" 1 x 1 pages.

not sure if that helps...

Not really.

All that does is print in landscape format at the top of the portrait sheet so you get an A5 landscape copy at the top of an A4 portrait sheet of paper.

Nothing I have tried so far has worked.

Seems as a workaround I may have to change the orientation of each of my cells but that seems like overkill for what should be quite simple!

What about setting the page up as A3 portrait and then sending it to print as A4 portrait. I know this will make all the text small but it will do as you're asking (albeit probably only going half way down the page)

Are you saying you want to swap the columns and rows so that it fits A4 in portrait. Then i think you want paste->transpose

All I want to do is make the spreadsheet pictured in post number 8 look like this:

And presumably the data is 'horizontal' on the screen?

Set your Print Area in Page Setup in Page Layout tab

File

Print

Select Landscape Orientation in Settings

(The preview should then show the view that you want)

Print

with Boc here...bit confused why setting to landscape wouldnt work

Because Excel would make incorrect assumptions about the area that was intended to be printed.

er... you can set the print area

hmmm this is difficult without the spreadsheet. spion, can you not attach the spready and scramble any important numbers?

No good.

Why not try pagebreak preview and then drag the page size to what you want after changing it to portrait?
