My router is a TP Link TD-W8901G and I can't access the control panel via 192.168.1.1 - I just get a 'page can't be displayed' message. I can ping 192.168.1.1 OK but not use it in a browser to access my router.

Tried Googling and nothing coming up.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks.

Have you tried resetting the router by turning it off and back on again?

... and are you sure the IP address is not 192.168.0.1 ?

Well that at least has the log-on screen back but now my password isn't accepted.

I sense a re-set coming on. Fecking cheap pile of shite.

I asked because mine (and many other routers) uses that address.

Thank you.

My choice of a 'rolling eyes' icon earlier was in hindsight wrong and I hope I haven't caused you any offence. In any case, thank you for not responding in kind, there are many on here (including myself) who probably would have made a sarcastic comment.

Your restraint shows the type of character you are and we are all enhanced by having your presence amongst us.

Bet you were looking for the punchline in the white text :)

Of course not.

Your restraint seems totally out of character for you.

I thought that too.

As luck would have it, I use an alternative colour style which I find is easier on my eyes. White text shows up quite nicely against the background of that style.

Drat! Will try a different colour next time!

I have 4 different routers at home at the moment due to various problems I have had accessing my work network. If anyone wants a netgear dgn1000 they are welcome to it.

A fellow 'Grey' fan too? :icon_cool

Indeed - I use 'Grey' on my desktop computer. I do however use 'Green' on my Netbook which 'hides white text.
