This would be a terrible loan signing. Actually I would put it on par with bringing Levein back as manager.

Plymouth have turned down our request to take him on a month's loan. :icon_wink ;)

I would imagine it is too act as cover, for Nils, especially now that Sheehan is injured.

Ben phoned me up at work to tell me this story the other day. i texted a couple of lads i know who are Plymouth fans, one said 'i'm so sorry for you'
the other said 'hahahahahahahahahaha'.

i'm thinking this wouldn't be the best of signings.....

That is what is being reported on the splitter forum. So I would imagine Brevett was being bought in purely as cover.

Can't see the point in this really - we've got Maybury, Stearman and Kisnorbo who can all fill in there when pushed - none of them ideal at left back (same with Nissa) but surely no worse then Brevett. Mind you, another injury or two in defence and we will have to look around.

I wasnt happy when i saw this link but it leads me to believe RK will not tinker with the defence and put people in positions there uncomfortable (Nissa is not a left back but at least has plenty of experience in this position). He may even play Sheehan for the rest of the season when hes fit, which i think the lad deserves (given a run in the first team might bring him on like its done for Stearman)

A 36 year old Plymouth reject?.......Hmmm. Thank God they turned us down..My old mum's available...her knees aren't great, but she's tough, (ex-dinner lady) She could stop any advancing forward with the "look"

:icon_eek: :118: :118: :icon_eek:

What you have to bear in mind, is that we will have very little in the way of money to spend, also there will only be a small number of players available in that position for that money, and with the experience and ability of playing at this level.

Lets not get on Rob's back straight away and start complaining about potential signings, this was an attempt to sign a player on a short term basis to provide cover, I would be amazed if Brevett was being bought in to start games, if so then it would have been a move to the end of the season, not the month as has been reported.

Of course we shouldn't get on RK's back, he can see what most of us can see.

We don't have a left back. Sheehan isn't ready (possibly) & Maybury is total shite and even worse than that, he is a liability and will hopefully be fooked off as soon as the chance arrives.

Why can't people understand we need a left back?

Exactly, Melton, the only problem being that it is a bad time of year to be trying to recruit one, but credit Kelly at least he is trying to plug the gaps that are blatantly obvious, what we have to recognise is that signings made now are most likely to be with a very short term view in mind, the true time to judge Kelly in the transfer market will be in the summer.

I think he would have been a reasonable signing till the end of the season.

I thought Maybury was superb against the Rams. A player doesn't turn shite over night - potentially he, like Kisnorbo, are benefitting from a new start in the side.

Maybury has been shite from day one. He is out of his depth, he is unreliable and i don't feel confident when players are running at him, or when he is in possession in his own half
