Owing to the fact he.....'can't run, is lazy and can't pass, any decent right winger will have a field day' according to Plymouth fans.

how about we give him a chance before writing him off :icon_roll

Of course we should give him a chance - but he's a 36 year old, who's played enough years in he Prem to be worth a bob or two and will have nothing to prove - I do fear the worst...

A guy where I work reckons he's a good player - he knows him from back in Derby where they grew up in the same area...
Of course he could be winding me up cos he's a sheepsh*gger after all.

I wouldn't deny that he was good enough in his day but I believe that day has gone.........:102:

Lets give the guy a chance, sometimes a move to a certain club can just not work out for whatever reason / circumstance. He is a proven performer at this level and in the prem, so lets keep an open mind and judge him on his performances in a blue shirt and not from second hand reports from disgruntled Plymouth fans.

They don't appear disgruntled Steve, they seem over the moon.

You know what I mean, it could be that Brevett doesnt fit in with Pulis' tactics, I have faith in Kelly's judgement, and maybe the slating Rufus is recieving from the Plymouth will act as a motivation to come here and ram their words back down their throats.

But you think Chris O'Grady should be on the plane to Germany so can we really trust your opinion:icon_wink

these same Plymouth fans were telling me we made a mistake signing whatisname........Gilbert that's it!

But many of us had seen little of Gilbert before we signed him, whereas Brevett has played at a high level for a number of years, I have seen him play a number of times and on most occasions he has looked solid, reliable and a decent defender, I will base my opinion on the years of decent performances for clubs such as QPR, Fulham and West Ham, rather than a few months at Plymouth.

Keep an open mind, maybe Kelly can get the best out of him, if he can then it will be a good piece of business.

from a Leicester fan living in Cornwall(posted on the OS)

"Living in Cornwall, i get to see Brevitt when i go to Argyle matches. He has not really featured in most of their games this season and at best has been a bench warmer.most of his games this year have been in the Screwfix direct League. What a coup signing a 36 year old, certainly one for the future"

you really think he'd be up to the standard of this division?
i hope you're right...i really do...but i'm not convinced.

the only positive thing i can see is that he IS a left back.

But we've signed loads of players over the last few years who had far better reputations than Brevett........ Keown,W**e,Dublin etc etc.......and they were all a waste of time 'cos they've nothing to prove and they just want either another pay day or they just can't face not playing football anymore....

I am prepared to be wrong on this one...

Ok signing as far as cover goes but I'd be horrified if he got any sort of run in the team. As long as it's just for cover and we don't intend to play him unless there is a huge shortage at the back... I wouldn't play him over Johansson at LB for example... then I don't mind. Of course I'll give him a chance if he plays, but I really hope it doesn't come to that...
