Same old ground.

We've been saying all of this stuff forever & yet everything remains unchanged. No reason to expect any alteration to that.
Everything is utterly broken & at the end of the season I have no doubt there will be a repeat of the "review" after the last relegation. Conducted by the people responsible for the mess, who will, once again, exonerate themselves from any blame & throw some minor subordinate under the bus.

I've seen this exact pattern more than once working for a large organisation. I'm sure others here have too.

Our owner is a buffoon surrounded by yes men to whom he is the golden goose. Chief among them a man utterly unqualified for his position who has managed to elevate himself from employee to faithful family retainer. To such an extent that he has slithered his way into KP roles outside of LCFC.
He works for Top. Not LCFC, which is why the ridiculous **** is still here.

I don't know our owner personally of course, but I recognise the type. God knows I've worked under enough of them. Booting Rudkin & bringing in genuine football people would be an admission that he got things wrong & I don't see him as the type to admit that. Plus it would remove the comforting tongue from up his arse that he obviously loves so much.

Top & Rudkin are of a type. Both promoted way beyond their ability & desperately winging it hoping for a miracle.
I just can't see it changing.

The only hope I'd say would be for Top to finally admit that Rudkin is a witless tool & do what other corporate overlords do in such circumstances. Offer him a position in KP away from the club, with a fancy title & large remuneration. But in an area where he can do little or no damage as the day to day is actually run by competent minions.
There he can wallow in self importance, attend lots of glitzy functions with very rich people, play a lot of golf & perform his only actually important role of servicing his boss's ringpiece.

British industry & commerce is packed to the rafters with people like Jon ****ing Rudkin. Professional chancers & ego strokers with a talent for office & boardroom politics but little else.

I worked for a very large wine company who bought a premises 10x their incumbent site.

My skills lie in logistics and company moves. They bought in a new Ops Director above my head and told me to get on with my day job and ignored what I willingly wanted to offer.

They then proceeded to bring in consultants @ £1000 per day on a 3-month contract to help the new director.

Wine in heavy and needs reinforced floors and specialised racking when you are storing about 12 metres in the air.

Consultants didn’t approach me once for my opinions due to new ops director not wanting to show a weakness.

All went ahead and they installed racking. About two weeks after installation the goods in manager approached me to come and look at the cracks in the floor as he was scared driving over the ever increasing cracks.

Owner of the business invited me for a chat and asked if I could assist.

I asked him for the racking loading calculations by pallet and the Schmidt hammer test which calculates the strength of the floor.

No such test existed and when he showed me the consultants calculations of the pallet weights they had underestimated each pallet weight by 250kg.

Result; all of the racking had to be removed and new beams purchased. They then had to dig up the entire floor to a depth of about 1.5 metres and relay a new slab.

It cost them £8 million 15 years ago.

i just spent the last six years watching a loss-making business pay consultants thousands a day to do work internal staff were perfectly capable of. In 2023, the same organisation paid out at least 200 grand for literally nothing. The ways businesses find to waste money is often mind-blowing.
