What’s the point in putting Bazza in charge if Rudkin will just employ his assistant. Him and Ruud should have a job swap.

Were such an unattractive proposition at the moment. Top needs to start being a “top” instead of being a “bottom.” He’s getting ****ed all over the shop.

He is a willing participant. Either he is completely incompetent and unqualified for the role he is currently in, or he is a leader who surrounds himself with ‘Yes’ men. Or, as I believe, both.

Paul Jewell lost 9 out of his last 10 at Derby in that season, including some pretty hefty kickings. The following season they took one point from their first four games, but he survived until December.

There was even a thread where we thought he been sacked but then he wasn’t. Good job we stuck with him. He found the answer and set the style of play that produced the greatest footballing story ever told.

There were some absolutely horrific performances in that run - absolute stinking filth, and a very large number of fans (many on here) had us relegated without a ****ing prayer

So Nov/Dec it felt exactly like it does now - cut adrift and totally and utterly doomed

And then it turned about February time - and then we ****ing it smashed it through March and April

Won’t happen this time, obviously, but the first half of that season it was Cooper/RvN in spades and abject misery

Was there? I recall a bad predictability and inevitability that we’d lost most games 2-1 but we at least occasionally looked vaguely competitive. Maybe my memory is just shite…

The stats start off weirdly similar. After 25 games in both seasons we had 17 points after just losing to Arsenal.

Goal difference only -18 though compared to our current -30. We didn't lose by more than 2 goals all season, compared to 5 times and counting this season we've lost by 3 or more. And of course we did something mad that season and strengthened the defense in the January transfer window.
