Don't be so pessimistic, YV!!

That's a ridiculous figure for an unproven player.

its the sort of sum teams use to say 'Dont even bother!"

we did the same with Piper, but Sunderland didn't understand :icon_bigg

Hmm, what the Arse want and what the Arse get are too very different things there. I imagine they're putting that tag on him in order to keep hinm for a couple of seasons and see how he develops, there's not a club in the world who would pay that for him now.

£2m less than Crouch. Dont tell Rafa.

I reckon we should swop him for Ashley Chambers and then we'll be shooting up the league!

UP THE CITY!

If we got promoted this season (highly unlikey I know), I think £5m on him would be money well spent to be honest.

might be worth cl making a bid in jan you never no , i dont think smith is a scot though so maybe he wont!

CL has signed 14 players, only three of them are Scots. We have no more Scottish players at the club now than we did under Micky Adams.

Good point Herr Vebmeister. People seem to be confusing signing players from an SPL club (e.g. Maybury, De Vries, Kisnorbo etc.) and players who fact are born sweaties.

In any case, its nothing to do withe nationality its how flipping good they are! I'd even have another Frenchie if he was up to it!!!

I think Arsenal fans should be allowed to vote on it. I am sure that they, if nobody else, would want to us to have the best chance of beating the ... eeerrrr... Tottenham.
Would the vote be by text boc?

I reckon keeping smith is top news. My god we need him. Cant see us siging him though, espcially if they are serious about 5million, although I doubt they are.

Anyways up the city.

well pleased with the loan extension. Attacking wise he's improved the team immensely. Pace and Skill is not something usually associated with the Championship, but we've got a player with both these in abundance.

Great news, he has improved the team's attacking play immensely and it is nice to have a player in the squad capable of exciting the crowd every time he is in possession, very few players have that ability. But there is no way on Gods earth he is worth even half the 5 mil Arsenal want for him. He has barely featured for the Arse's first team and he has had eight good games in the championship at best he is worth probably a million to a million and a half at the very tops. Although there is no doubting he does have the ability to have a very successful career.

Question for Webbie, or anyone else who thinks they know. I thought I read somewhere that if a player was loaned for the season, they could not normally be recalled? So Smith should be available for FA Cup games, shouldn't he?

This was dealt with in another thread. I think it used to be the case, but there is nothing in the regs now to prevent a recall.
