Seems the campaign to bring standing back to the top tiers of the English football leagues has taken a nudge in the right direction. I know it's seemed that it's being suggested every season, but this year a few things have happened that may well lend it some respectability. Someone on FT has been making noises about bringing a safe standing roadshow to Leicester and, supposedly, the Mayor has lent his support.
I hope it does gain some momentum, it's been shown to work in other countries with similar attendances to the Premier League and Championship and I'm probably not alone in thinking that standing lends itself to a more positive atmosphere. Plus I do think it's a shame that a generation of football supporters won't get the chance to experience standing at a decent level of football....that's just my opinion though.
