Seems the campaign to bring standing back to the top tiers of the English football leagues has taken a nudge in the right direction. I know it's seemed that it's being suggested every season, but this year a few things have happened that may well lend it some respectability. Someone on FT has been making noises about bringing a safe standing roadshow to Leicester and, supposedly, the Mayor has lent his support.

I hope it does gain some momentum, it's been shown to work in other countries with similar attendances to the Premier League and Championship and I'm probably not alone in thinking that standing lends itself to a more positive atmosphere. Plus I do think it's a shame that a generation of football supporters won't get the chance to experience standing at a decent level of football....that's just my opinion though.

Leesoh went to the fans consultative meeting last week and raised it, the club have no interest in standing as they have other priorities which they are focussing on.

Those that really want to stand at the KP can just move to L1.

I like to stand and used to have a ticket in L1 but had to move to the kop to escape all the knuckle draggers.

I expect 90% of the knuckle-draggers will move to any standing area. At least temporarily to jump on the bandwagon. Even if it was implemented I doubt it would be all around the stadium, more like just a few sections. You'd have no escape from them!

If there was a standing area in the kop I'd guess most of L1 would stay where they are because they'd miss the banta with the away fans, no point in throwing abuse and threats at your own fans.

It doesn't stop some of them doing just that though does it.

No that's why we moved, perhaps if they watched the game and supported the team rather than having a go at everyone the atmosphere would improve

It's the endless streaming down the aisles to the concourse within five minutes of kicking-off that drove me out of L1 ...

I think a good proportion of the meat heads would move at first, thinking its the trendy thing to do, before going back to intimidating teir own shadows.
