we have another up n coming monster that falls over easy??
If you mean, we have another quality player good enough for the Premier League at 17, I suspect the answer is no.

But let us not forget he had the good grace to stump up some spondoolies when we were in the mire.
Correct, a six-figure lump of spondoolies in fact. :038: :038: :038:

That, plus the fact he was fantastic for us, makes big Em one of my all time favourite LCFC players. Lots of other supposed LCFC heros could have stepped up with some cash at the time -but very few did. Mr. Heskey is a true LCFC legend in my eyes, and I'm not using that word in its modern "Big Trev, wot a legend" context.

Emile is a flippin' hero. One of the few current day professionals who has some heart for his home town club.

As for young Ricky, jeez, give the lad a chance to see if he can cut it in a man's game before writing him off.

Heskey puts his career and his bank balance before his "home town club" and quite rightly so.

If he is what you describe as a "hero", then he'd still be here.

Maybe but he did get rather a lot of crap from the supporters when he was here - lack of scoring and lots of falling over if I remember.

You've gone soft Melts. Last year you'd have mentioned those who die in fires saving lives, those who perform staggering tasks of courage in the face of personal adversity of being classed as heroes. Not a sodding footballer!

But that's been said, and evidently remembered. I have no need to say it again.

I wasn't arguing with the definition of "hero" in this instance, I was merely pointing out the Emile isn't the "hero" for the reasons being given.

Being big does not make a player the new Heskey. The one thing that our last five managers have all agreed on is that however bad our injuries are Sappleton is not worth a place in the team. Indeed in the FA Cup when Howard was ill it was Craig King who was seen as the best replacement. Sappleton is another useless Martin Allen signing and the sooner we get him off the wage bill the better.

He still plays for the youth team FFS, give him a chance to develop before writing him off.
