Maybe we need to try the 4-3-1-2 formation.

And how would that help?

Recently our threat has come from getting the ball to the wingers. Playing 4-3-1-2 means you don't have wingers in the team.

The formation isn't the problem, the form of our strikers is.

We might be better playing 4-5-1, which will allow our midfielders to get forward, at least then we have less reliance on strikers.

I must admit I did prefer the 2-5-3 formation that we had for the last ten minutes on Saturday

Useless feckers still couldn't get in the box and stick it away

I think Sam was watching a different game - the video of Charlton away

De Vries' performance was one of the most bizarre I have seen for a long time. It was almost like he didn't want to head the ball, and was timing his jumps to completely miss it

Can't say I've ever seen anything quite like it

I remember there was a period when Mike Newell went through a similar problewm jumping for headers - and he got stick from Leicester fans for it. He ended up being a decent striker though.

We should also remember Mark Bright. Got some awful stick when he was at Leicester, but moved on and proved what a good player he was.

We shouldn't write off a striker after a few games.

As the saying goes, form is temporary, class is permanent. Our two strikers are capable of being good players in this division, we just have to make sure it happens for us, rather than let them move on and prove it somewhere else.

Which teams have never been outside the top two leagues in England?
I'm sure we are one of them - could be wrong though.

We are one of them - the only one in the midlands.

The others are (I think..)

Man Utd
Liverpool
Everton
Leeds
Arsenal
Spurs
Chelsea
West Ham
Newcastle

see below

Blimey - we are in with some good sides there - hopefully for at least one more year anyway! I think you are wrong about Newcastle though.

I have a feeling I'm right on this one though, maybe, just maybe webbo has made an error!

Yes but it also says this:

Leicester have never won the First Division title or the FA Cup, but they have been particularly unfortunate in the latter as they have lost five times in the Final.

Talk about inaccuracy!

I know, and for the other teams - webbo, you've done it again.

but surely heading a ball is a basic requirement for a footballer

It's a shame really, all you can do is look back and think - we used to be good. but it's just fashion really - good, bad, ugly, good, bad, ugly. It'll settle soon, hopefully, the wheel of fortune will land in the good zone and stay put for at least 8 weeks.

I don't imagine MDV has got this far in the game without being able to head it.

Maybe his anxiety about not scoring is making him jump too early, and if he stops worrying about it everything will come into place. Probably needs one to go in off his arse and everything will be ok.
