Most of the extremely upset and angry fans had left leaving mainly the BM's and the kids.
I think that is nonsense.

Most of those left were ardent supporters simply standing in disbelief that they had suffered this season at home and it had all finished in such a fashion.

People in front of the Kop were consoling each other - not waiting for players to return. They were waiting for someone to find where their hope had gone, dust it off and give it back to them.

I was waiting to be proved wrong, for God to exist and send a f*cking thunderbolt at the changing room.

There was a palpable sense of loss, I think you will find your numbskulls had already left after the third goal went in so they could phone up RL from home :023:

There's different ways of being upset. I left after the third went in but as I went past the guy at the end of our row, who I often have a couple of words with, he was distraught rather than suffering my simmering rage and depression. Hoping tearfully for justice from a vengeful god because the third goal was yards offside rather than just bitter that it was over. Making staying a BM thing is too simple.

To be fair they would have been greeted with thousands of extremely angry and upset fans. I was giving them hell at full-time. They can thank us with passion and pride in their playing displays - not by some crappy clapping at the end of a game.

I stayed around inside the stadium to see what might unfold. I can assure that there were not thousands of us, extremely upset or otherwise - no more than a few hundred in fact when the stewards started getting the word around that we would not be seeing the players again.

Sadly they were lying to you

We'll have to see the useless feckwits again next Sunday
