I need to buy a scanner, will any scanner work with any computer?
I have a HP computer and was on the verge of buying a non HP scanner but thought I'd better find out first.

HP ATI Radeon X300SE is what my computer is called I think.
Not particularly old but not particularly good either.

If it's got USB sockets you should be OK, and it would have to be ancient for it not to have them.
