I'm pretty sure that I can see your tongue in your cheek there - but I can assure you that it was not meant to cause offence and apologise if it has upset anybody. In my defence I will say that the words I used were the words used by Radio Kent; I only wrote them down.

Still wonderingnthough why they broke into a programme to give a news item which would normally only feature locally.

One of my daughters goes to Beauchamp College (next door to Gartree) and told me about it when she got home at around 3pm. Listened to Radio Leicester news at 4pm and they said nothing at all and yet the news on Herat FM a little later did mention it.

Wonder if they had a news blackout until they knew exactly the state of any potential casualties.

Train is derailed - no trains operating north from Leicester to either Derby or Nottingham - sounds as though it might take a while to get this sorted.

Reports suggest that the footbridge had been hit and demolished by a lorry and was lying across the track.

It's almost certain that trains south of Leicester will be affected. I can't imagine that they will be running the normal 4 trains per hour.
