Good start today against Scotland. Quick opening partnership, Du Toit out for 39 and Cobb for 61 with avoidable shots unfortunately though.

122/2 off 22 overs.

Shame Jefferson has been injured for these two 40 over matches, we need him for the one dayers.

Finished on 253/4. Didn't really accelarate at any point in the second half of the innings, could be chased if we don't bowl tidily.

There was a good article about Taylor on Sky between the two innings. All sounding positive, happy to stay at Leicester and do what he can.

Couple of comments in the commentary I noted...

Nick Knight going on about his runs being "second division" runs and suggesting they had a lower currency. There is probably a lot of truth in that. However no-one worried about that when Ramps was pushing for an English recall from Division Two, and it discounts the fact that Taylor has scored runs for England Lions and in the Pro40 and Twenty20 against Division One sides.

Also Bob Willis suggesting he might not have the ideal game for one-day cricket, again ignoring the fact that last year he was one of the leading run scorers in T20 and Pro40, has a one-day career average of around 50 and in Twenty20 I've seen him hit sixes with the best of them (amazingly for his size).

Nathan Buck made much less of an impression but his bowling was pretty average stuff. Then again, it's only by bowling at the death in these kind of matches that he'll learn the art of one-day bowling.
