However, Trust Chairman, Ian Bason stated “There are 3 areas where the club are certainly offering a worse deal than last season.
The 1,000 'just the Ticket' prices, at £275, the cheapest in the ground, did not increase at any point last season, so the club is implementing a 10% price increase in this area from June 1st, despite the denials.
The club has introduced the £4 per month administration fee for the Direct Debit scheme, where none existed last year. The true cost of running these schemes is nothing like £4 each, so a price rise or interest charge by another name has been introduced
We have stated all along, that the Early Bird pricing scheme having a 31st May deadline was too soon, as last year the Classic prices and cut off date for retaining your existing seat was June 16th.
Therefore we repeat our call to delay the Early Bird cut off until at least the same time scales as last season, as the immediate plans for the club should be clearer by then given Milan Mandaric's comments about decisions being made the first or second week of June.
We also still believe the prices should have been reduced to reflect our League One status and that a significant fall in number of season tickets will be the inevitable result of the club not listening, overall the club will be financially worse off.
For the purposes of comparing what was offered last season, below is a copy of last years pricing structure, this can be used when prices for all areas of the ground for the 2008/9 season are made available. THESE ARE THE 2007/8 SEASON PRICES, NOT THE CURRENT PRICNG STRUCTURE

Amazingly, I think this is ridiculous. Something that should have been campaigned on during the season before the pricing structure had been announced and thousands have paid for their season tickets.

At least Bason has dropped the nonsensical claim that ST sales will drop by 50%.

I'm not normally one to defend the FT but how do you mount a campaign about ST prices for the 3rd division when you are still in the 2nd division?

And I'm not sure that I have read any claim that sales will drop by 50%. The only thing that I can see is him talking about a "significant drop" - and I am sure that is how it will turn out.

At least the FT have made some noise - many people have just paid up without a whimper, whilst others have decided not to renew without a single word to the club giving their reason in the hope that it might change the thinking.

Trust Chairman, Ian Bason, said “From the feedback received so far it’s seems as though over half of the current Season Ticket holders will not renew unless prices are reduced”

Many of us wrote directly to the club after the announcement about a potential increase in prices. The Trust refused to answer what plans it had at the time because they didn't have one.

Before the final decision was announced
, regardless of the Division, was the time for campaigning. Is the price going to be reduced now? No. Will the date be extended? Maybe, but not because of the Trust - it will be because of falling sales.

To argue for a reduction in price after thousands have purchased their STs is plain daft. What do they imagine will happen? That the club will then be sending people rebate cheques in the post? Is there not one person here who would rather we be spending money with the aim of returning to the Championship?

I find it a shame that something that could have been a really good issue for the Trust has again been cocked up due to the limited abilities of those directing it - more interested in getting their name in print than getting it there for the right reasons.
