And he served his apprenticeship under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Shakey has had sociopath Pearson, and our cuddly Dilly Ding, Dilly Dong to learn from!

I didn't say that he did well, I just came up with a correct answer. Go me.

Just naming some Man Utd assistant managers would do the job. Didn't Kind do the same? That Carlos Queer bloke went from Manure to Madrid too.

There are actually loads, a large proportion of managers were previously Assistants.

I would think that most Assistants would want the top job given the opportunity. It doesn't mean they are not happy though.

The question that was asked earlier in the thread was "So how many PL teams appoint someone else's assistant manager as manager?"

Most of the assistants who became managers did so at the same club, they were promoted after the manager they assisted left. So if Shakespeare is going to become a manager the most likely way for that to happen is if he stays where he is.

Yes, I was specifically looking for people who'd gone on to manage another club in the Premier League.

Human beings cannot be penned in by this thing you call 'logic'

Its not how we work me ode fruit

That's what I'm learning on here.

I may be reading the FA's announcement differently to everybody else. People are presuming that it is the FA that has stood Craig down. I think it is equally possible to read it as Craig not wanting to be an assistant to Southgate and asking to be released. It's difficult to resolve the FA's "Craig would be welcome back in the England set-up at any time" statement if anything else were the case.

He's never even hinted at it

There is no fact, no possible hint or suggestion of a fact, not even a whisper of a rumour of a fact, to provide a valid or logical reason to believe he would want to move into a managers position - or indeed any position other than the one he has right now

But that's just my opinion, obviously

Cuddle?

Ideal manager for Villa. ;)

Bet he can't wait to cash in his Champions League adventure for away games at Blackburn and Barnsley
