Sorry to go off topic like this....

The OS is reporting that Alan Sheehan is back at the club from his loan at Mansfield.

What they didn't say is that Mansfield wanted to keep Sheehan for another month and had been talking to the club about extending the loan. Sheehan had also said he'd be happy to stay another month.
So the fact he's now back here suggests the manager sees him as part of the first team squad, maybe we'll see him on the bench on Saturday.

FFS Jeff, anyone would think this is a football forum, rather than Young Businessman of the Year :icon_lol:

Going back "on topic", I hope this loan spell will have left Sheehan a lot better player as it has done with Logan and O'Grady.

Let's hope he has improved his temperament, as well as his playing skills, during his loan spell. If so he could soon become a very useful member of the team.

Is he coming back so that when we borrow lots of money to build a new team around him?

Definitely. His temperament was his one let down IMO, if this is sorted out, as you say, he could well be an important player for us.

Lets hope so OG. I hope the experience has toughened him up physically also. I fear he could be a little too lightweight for regular first team football at this level. He clearly has a gifted left foot and shows promise. But he'll need more than that to make the grade.

Clearly Dodds is still a way off first team plans - loan extnded at Northwich Vics for another month

For me, Dodds is currently 5th choice.

Certainly his scoring ratio at conference level will do his confidence the world of good. Hopefully, when he returns, he will be given a chance to show us what he can do, and move up that pecking order.

Seems odd though considering that Nills isn't playing that bad at left back IMO:102:

But he's likely to be off soon

At the start of the season I would have played Sheehan above Nils, but now he has came on fantastic and Sheehan would never start in front of him.

I think Nils is off in January, hence is upturn in form and Sheehan needs "blooding"

According to a Mansfield site he is currently injured and its interesting to note that we wouldn't allow him to play in the FA Cup for them on Saturday.

I bet MM wants him here so he can sell him the second he takes over and strips us of all of our assets and runs rounds in his red cape with little horns sticking out of his head the bas***d
